I made this dish on my lunch break. I actually wanted a cranberry turkey sandwich but got home and realized there’s no bread in the pantry. Quick decision, I decided to make a full meal; and the easiest thing to thaw and cook in under an hour is Tilapia, and that I had plenty of. J
Ingredients
1 pound tilapia fillets
3 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoon dried oregano
2 teaspoon dried thyme
2 teaspoon celery seed
2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon ground white pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
Salt to taste
Lemon Sauce
3 tablespoon of butter
¼ cup white wine
½ lemon (juiced)
Directions:
- In a small bowl, combine the spices to make a blend.
- Toss everything together and coat the fish fillet
- Allow seasoned fillet to sit at room temperature for a few minutes
- Heat a heavy skillet over high heat
- Spray with non stick spray
- Place the fillets in the pan, and cook for about 3 minutes per side, or until fish is opaque and can be flaked with a fork.
- Remove fillet from skillet
- In same skillet, melt 3 tablespoon of butter
- Add white wine and lemon juice
- Let simmer for a minute and spoon over fish
*I served over brown wild rice
Blend all spices together
Rinse and pat dry
generously sprinkle seasoning on fish
make sure the skillet is hot before adding fish
3 minute on each side
