Jamaican Rum Punch

Ok Folks, Labor Day is right around the corner, so I’m flying off to Jamaica for a few days, but all this running around trying relentlessly not to forget anything has left me thirsty.

So here’s a Thirsty Thursday treat for ya!  (#say that fast 3 times.) J

Here’s my version of the Jamaican Rum Punch; I keep it real simple, and all fruit juices or syrups can be changed, but remember “if Jamaican Rum is not in it, then its not Authentic rum punch.”

Jamaica Rum Punch
3 oz. Jamaican White Rum
1 oz Myers dark rum
1 oz. Lime Juice
1 oz. Sugar
8 oz. Water
4 Pimento (Allspice) Berries
3 oz Pineapple Juice
3 oz. Jamaican Strawberry Syrup

Directions:
Mix strawberry syrup, lime juice, sugar, and water together until sugar is dissolved. Then add rum & pimento berries. Serve over cracked ice.

Note: You can make a larger quantity of this drink using the above ratio. You can also make this drink a week before you intend to serve your guests. Just make sure you store it in a very dark place in glass bottles.

Bottoms up!!  And don’t forget to drink responsibly.
